Destroyed or Occupied Mandirs or Stupas in India

This is not my regular type of post. We know from evidence that Mandirs and Stupas (and other monuments like universities) were demolished/occupied and often even replaced by invaders. Several historical accounts both contemporary and today acknowledge this. The legendary Sita Ram Goel made one of the first comprehensive study of the destroyed temples that dot the landscape of the Indian subcontinent. However, the list of these temples or other buildings are difficult to find (other than his original book). There is another book by Prafulla Goradia, namely ' Hindu Masjids ' that speaks specifically about Hindu temples that are currently under occupation. The main problem is that this information is difficult to find. Unless one is a scholar, or has a special inclination towards reading history - one cannot be expected to stumble upon this on their own. Hence, it is important that a easy to find repository of all monuments with a wound is recorded for posterity. My own hu...

Sri Sri & Homosexuality – Another media hit job in the making

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (henceforth named as Mr. Shankar) is not new to controversy. Not even with topics like homosexuality. What the event was At an event in the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Ravi Shankar gave a talk on the occasion of the Nehru Memorial lecture on 13 th November, 2017. One among the audience lamented that he was ill-treated since he was known to be a homosexual. Then Mr. Shankar stated that he needed to accept himself as he was and love knew no boundaries. Let’s see and hear what he said… Let’s quote Mr. Shankar verbatim as reported by some of the newspapers . ‘ You treat yourself better, doesn’t matter how others treat you. You don’t think you are sick or something’s wrong with you. If you stand up, nobody can insult you… But if you feel weak and meek, and if you feel bad about yourself, nobody can make you feel better.’ Indian Express reported this in addition as well. Let me quote it directly here as well. ‘ This is your tendency now. Just ack...

Lets blame the Hindus

Note - By the blanket term - 'Hindu' I mean all Indian religions. Blaming Hindus for everything is easy. 'Secular' people and their minions keep trumpeting the charges over and over again with impunity. Because they very well know that Hindus won't retaliate by blowing up their houses, or kidnapping their children. They won't even cut the hand of the offenders or even beat them up in broad daylight. The girls won't be raped, the property won't be stolen. To cut the long story short, all the Hindus will do is cry foul and forget a week later. That is what has been happening for centuries anyway. A few notable incidents happened. Pakistan is a great source of knowledge in this regard. The search for an Indian Jew ended in 712 AD when bin Kasim conquered Sindh. Since then Hindus, especially the meeker ones were found to be convenient scapegoats. After defeating Dahir somehow the blame was put on (no prize for guessing) Dahir and blamed his Brahmanistic...

What happened at Godhra

The man made pyre Once upon a time in the dark days of February..... The evening mist has just settled. A middle aged man wrapped in a grey shawl waits in the station. Beside him is a cup of tea, long since cold. On his right is a Gujarati newspapers loosely folded. On the paper is a big Motorola cellphone. Just about a hundred meters away a couple of house are filled with strangers. Numbering about 30, they remain in silence waiting for a call from a Motorola wireless transmitter. A couple of days ago, news came in that women and children were coming in from kar seva. On route to home, they would have to pass through a small station in rural Gujarat. The group were to take part in a small 'welcoming'. As the middle aged man looked at his watch, the station signboard glistened at the passing lights of some nearby car. It read - Godhra. Substantial preparations were already made for the party. The photographers among them were highly trained and equipped w...

A Post Dedicated to Malala Yousafzai

I am not a very soft person. When it comes to Islamists and Pakistan, I turn harder(with good reason). But this girl just stands out of all of it. I will write little in this post. Words won't do enough justice to a child like her. We know what happened to her. So I won't go elaborate and repeat what the entire world knows. I just wish to convey a message - I love you. Simple. Go conquer the world. Best Wishes. Thanks, Sarthak Just another Sanatani
